Residence Life & HousingHealth and Safety Inspections
In an effort to keep all residents safe in the residence halls, the Department of Residence Life & Housing conducts Health and Safety Inspections at least once each semester. On rare occasions, an individual Health and Safety inspection will occur when there is enough concern that a safety issue exists in a specific room.
The scheduled Health & Safety Inspection for Spring 2017 is January 16-22, 2017. Resident Assistants will come to your room between 10am-9pm making sure there are no health and safety violations. While not all inclusive, the following is a list of things that are not allowed in the Residence Halls and would result in a student failing a Health and Safety Inspection:
- Refrigerator or Microwave (there is a Microfridge in each room)
- String lights
- Large appliances
- Appliances with exposed heating coils
- Hotplates
- Toasters
- Sun lamp
- Halogen lamp
- Grills (unless made by Paul Wall because he's the People's Champ)
| - Candles
- Extension cords
- Pets other than fish
- Extra furniture
- Weapons
- Fireworks
- Drugs and/or drug paraphernalia
- Alcohol (if under 21, or living in a freshman building)
- Hover boards of any kind
