Deliberative Dialogue – Freedom of Speech on Campus

Sponsored by Diversity, Inclusion, & Community Engagement

  • Tuesday, February 26th @ 6:00 p.m.  (Levine Center – Crown Room)

Dr. Aaron Houck will share background information about the history and laws about free speech before the we engage in a deliberative dialogue about free speech on campus.  We will explore how students feel about free speech and whether or not they feel that the campus is open to free speech from all members of the campus community regardless of their views and beliefs.

Reflection Questions:

1.     Do you feel free to voice your views/opinions in the classroom and throughout the campus?

2.     How has your understanding and appreciation for free speech changed?

3.     How does freedom of speech impact how you work with others?
