JBIP Faculty-Led Programs: Summer 2022

JBIP REVEAL PARTY FOR JUNIORS & SENIORS

We will be announcing the Summer 2022 faculty-led programs on SEPTEMBER 20, 2021 from 4-6pm in Claudia Belk. To allow for social distancing, students will be required to sign up for an entry time here.Faculty-led program applications will open that day and will remain open through October 8, 2021.

If you didn't previously, we encourage you to complete the JBIP Study Abroad 101 course which explains your study abroad options and the application process. Students who complete JBIP 101 will receive priority in the open programs lottery.

How do I know if I’m eligible for JBIP funding?

Great question! We have a flow chart that can help here. If you’re still unsure, send us an email: international@queens.edu.

I’m graduating in May 2022. Can I still participate in a faculty-led program in Summer 2022?

Yes! However, you will need to technically extend your graduation to the month that you return from your travel, since you’ll be earning credit during the JBIP program. As long as your other requirements are completed, you are still able to walk in the May graduation. There are no extra fees associated with this extension other than fees related to your selected JBIP program (supplements, etc.). We know many of you didn’t get to do your study abroad program last year due to COVID, so we are anticipating lots of seniors taking advantage of this opportunity next summer.

DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE STUDY ABROAD 101 TO PARTICIPATE IN A PROGRAM? Completing Study Abroad 101 is HIGHLY recommended so you learn of all your different program options and can make an informed decision before applying. If you choose not to complete it, you will be allowed to participate if you are eligible, but you will be placed in a program after the students who have completed Study Abroad 101.
